Zusammenfassung
Im Kindes- und Jugendalter (<15 Jahre) sind die Tumoren des zentralen Nervensystems (ZNS) mit einem Anteil von ca. 23 % aller onkologischen Erkrankungen die zweithäufigste onkologische Erkrankung. Insgesamt erkranken in Deutschland jährlich ca. 400 Kinder an einem Tumor des ZNS. Die Tumoren des ZNS treten mit einer leicht abnehmenden altersabhängigen Inzidenz auf: Inzidenz von 43,6 pro 1 Mio. Kinder im Alter unter 1 Jahr und von 28,4 pro 1 Mio. Kinder im Alter von 10–14 Jahren. Die häufigsten ZNS-Tumoren sind Astrozytome (47 %), gefolgt von Medulloblastomen (15 %), Ependymomen (10 %), supratentoriellen primitiv neuroektodermalen Tumoren des ZNS (stPNETs; 3 %) und Kraniopharyngeomen (5 %). Die Häufigkeit der verschiedenen Tumoren des ZNS ist altersabhängig.
