This book has been written by two experts in ventilation and indoor air quality with vast experience in the field of kitchen ventilation in both Asia and Europe. Authors and Affiliations
About the authors
Prof. Angui Li is a professor at Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology. He has been active in the research on novel and high-efficiency ventilation air distribution for large spaces such as industrial ventilation areas, underground hydropower stations, subways and tunnels for more than thirty years. He has led more than 50 research projects, including EU projects, National Natural Science Foundation projects, and National Science and Technology Major projects. Prof. Angui Li has also carried out in-depth research sponsored by NSFC in the field of kitchen pollutant control and ventilation. He has won two national technology invention awards and ten provincial science & technology awards. To date, he has published over 250 papers, including 80 SCI papers. Additionally, he holds more than 50 invention patents. In 2013, he was granted the honorary title of "the national distinguished experts with outstanding contributions in China".
Prof. Risto Kosonen is an associate professor (tenured) at Aalto University, Finland. He has been long engaged in HVAC technology research with a focus on indoor climate, building systems as well as energy efficiency in buildings. He was a development director of the office segment at Halton Oy (1998~2015) and has accumulated extensive experience in kitchen ventilation. Risto Kosonen is the author of 319 publications including 35 peer-reviewed scientific articles, 10 scientific books or book chapters, 142 conference proceedings, 32 reports and research notes, and 124 publications intended for the general public. He also holds ten European patents (EPO) of indoor climate product and systems. He has received numerous awards and honors including the Best Paper Award 2016 Building and Environment Journal and the John Rydberg Gold Medal.
