Zusammenfassung

Zahlreiche Fehlbildungen betreffen auch oder ausschließlich das Hautorgan. Einige von ihnen sind offensichtlich und unübersehbar, andere sind diskret, an versteckter Lokalisation und werden erst im Verlauf entdeckt. Wie am Beispiel der Aplasia cutis congenita zu erkennen, kommen die in diesem Kapitel besprochenen kutanen Fehlbildungen häufig isoliert vor und haben dann meist nur eine geringe Krankheitsbedeutung, sie können jedoch auch eine Signalfunktion für zum Teil schwerwiegende zugrunde liegende Erkrankungen und komplexe Syndrome haben. Die Kenntnis der kutanen Marker gravierender Entwicklungsstörungen und deren Unterscheidung von harmlosen Spielarten der Natur kann bei rechtzeitiger diagnostischer Evaluation und Therapie dazu beitragen, ernsthafte Komplikationen und irreversible Folgen zu vermeiden. Von besonderer Relevanz sind hierbei die Hautzeichen bei okkulter kranialer und spinaler Dysraphie.
