Zusammenfassung
Die Chloridkanalmyotonien gehören zu den nichtdystrophen Myotonien und sind Ionenkanalkrankheiten, bei denen nur die Muskulatur betroffen ist. Das vorherrschende Symptom ist eine Störung der Muskelrelaxation (Myotonie), die von den Betroffenen als Steifheit wahrgenommen wird. Die Erkrankung kann einem autosomal-rezessiven Erbgang folgen, sog. Myotonia congenita Becker (Prävalenz 1:25.000) oder seltener autosomal-dominant vererbt werden, Myotonia congenita Thomsen (Prävalenz 1:400.000).
