Abstract
Organ procurement is the first and an important step in the process of solid organ transplantation. There is a significant shortage of transplantable organs, e.g., kidneys, livers, pancreas, hearts, lungs and intestines, with waitlist time increasing annually. It is important to collaborate with other providers involved in the process of organ procurement to maximize the deceased donor organ pool. Careful donor evaluation and organized procurement processes can help increase the deceased organ donation pool.
