Abstract

Marko Marulić was the most important Croatian writer in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, who wrote in Latin, Croatian, and Italian. He was a poet, prose writer, and a translator, who left behind some 50 works, most of which were published. Some of his writings are known only by their titles. He is known as the “father of Croatian literature.”
