Brazilian GDP versus agricultural GDP

  • Chapter
The orange juice business

Abstract

Brazil is, notably, a country focused on agrobusiness. From 1995 to 2008, the sector represented between 24.5% and 28.5% of the country’s GDP (Graph 1). Variation in the growth rate for the sector is related to the oscillation of the prices for commodities on the international market and the exchange rate.
