Abstract
In any business venture there is always an element of risk, but it is the skill in managing this risk that generally distinguishes between those organizations that are successful and those that are not. In the development of any business strategy risk factors are a key consideration, and the robustness of risk management programmes is a crucial element in maintaining the balance of an organization. How organizations address risk, and more importantly the ethos of the organizations towards risk, can have a significant impact on how the people within those organizations react to and handle the implications of risk.
