Like a sock in the dryer, an afternoon disappears. One minute it is time for lunch and the next my stomach is grumbling for dinner. At first, I am not surprised. If I am writing a story, I know how absorption in that kind of work makes the time go for me. Or getting lost in reading a book. Or sanding wood. Or baking.
