Abstract
The advantages of hypothermic storage have lately been discussed by Marshall1 and Collins2, and continuous perfusion by Belzer3. Both methods are excellent for clinical use but further research is necessary to explain what happens in the kidney during the hypothermic state and what changes are of importance for functional restitution after transplantation.
