Abstract
Presently in Japan, soybean disease management depends mainly on the application of fungicides. However, recently research on the development of methods of biological control has become very active in addition to the use of resistant varieties and improvement of cultural practices. Recent research highlights on biological control are as follows: Control of Verticillium disease by using non pathogenic Fusarium oxysporum, control of soybean mosaic disease by using the attenuated virus, and control of soybean cyst nematode by using parasitic fungi. In addition, a new method, soil sterilization will be introduced in this report.
