Abstract

The upsurge of interest in amino acids, peptides, and proteins in the last decade makes it impossible to do justice to the field in this short chapter. This review attempts to give the reader a flavour of the field in general and to highlight some of the advances which have taken place. The reference list is not intended to be comprehensive but rather should be considered as a source of more detailed reviews and books.
