Abstract

The following three main ways of high gas and liquid flowrates realization to reduce the size of the equipment for absorption or distillation are discussed: performance under condition of phase inversion, cocurrent flow of phases on the stage and use of a centrifugal field• The special technique for comparative estimation and choice of the optimum construction of the apparatus to arrive at a proper economic balance of investment and operating costs is developed. Industrial examples of the effective contacting devices working in the intensive regimes are given
