Abstract
Let me first of all express my deep appreciation for the decision of the Commission of the European Communities to organise this very important Conference in Athens. As the Minister of Industry, Energy and Technology, I have the honour to open this Conference and I trust that its results would lead to better and more innovative uses of energy.
