Consistent Formulation Of A Triangular Finite Rotation Shell Element

  • Conference paper
DIANA Computational Mechanics ‘94

Abstract

The present paper considers a finite rotation formulation for shell elements with rotations about the element sides as nodal degrees of freedom. Attention will mainly be on the derivation of a consistent formulation, and in particularly the evaluation of a consistent tangent operator. Numerical examples demonstrate the differences between the present and a previous approximate formulation.
