Abstract
Eddy loss in transformer windings, a key performance parameter, is generally estimated by 2-dimensional Finite Element Method (FEM) Analysis which requires knowledge and working experience and is time consuming. The paper outlines the use of orthogonal array design of experiments, determination of quadratic response surface and use of variance stabilising transformation for very fast and accurate analysis and estimation of winding eddy loss.
