Samenvatting

Het misbruik van antibiotica in de tandheelkunde loopt als een rode draad door de literatuu. De medicatie die door tandartsen wordt voorgeschreven bestaat in sommige landen voor 39% uit antimicrobiële middelen naast circa 44% pijnstilling. In ontwikkelingslanden bedraagt het percentage voorgeschreven antimicrobiële middelen zelfs 66 tot 82%. Meer kennis en betere regulering over en van antibiotica in de tandheelkunde is geen luxe.
