Abstract
Preliminary studies suggest that desflurane’s potentiation of muscle relaxants equals or exceeds that by isoflurane. However, in most studies of vecuronium (1,2), variability within groups is too large to demonstrate differences between anesthetics. To overcome this problem, we compared vecuronium’s potentiation by desflurane vs. isoflurane using a crossover study design.
