Applications of five-membered ring products as catalysts in cyclometalation reactions include chiral reactions, metathesis reactions, cross-coupling reactions, and polymerization reactions. Other reactions include reductions, Michael addition reactions, dehydrogenations, Diels–Alder reactions, and hydrogenations.
