Junge Technologieunternehmen dürfen sich nicht auf das Potenzial der Technologien verlassen, mit denen sie einmal den Markt betreten haben. Um technologischen Trends folgen und am Markt bestehen zu können, müssen junge Technologieunternehmen kontinuierlich an der Generierung neuen technologischen Wissens arbeiten. Einen großen Einfluss auf die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit übt die technologische Kompetenz aus. Ziel dieses Beitrags ist es, einen Ansatz zur Messung vorzustellen. Da Kompetenzen latente Konstrukte sind, stellt dieses Vorhaben eine große Herausforderung dar. Verschiedene Messgrößen werden beschrieben und kategorisiert. Die Durchführung der Messung mit Patendaten wird empfohlen.
