Durch das Rumpelstilzchen-Märchen ist die magische Wirkung von Namen Teil unserer kollektiven Identität geworden. Auch für das reale Leben sind Namen aller Art überaus bedeutsam. Deshalb begreifen immer mehr Unternehmen Wahl und Pflege von Firmen-, Markennamen etc. zunehmend als strategische Aufgabe. Denn wer eine starke Corporate Identity besitzt, ist nachweislich erfolgreicher als solche Unternehmen, die unter Identitätsschwäche leiden. Und wichtiger Bestandteil der Unternehmensidentität sind Firmenname und Markenname(n) (vgl. Abb. 1-1).
