Abstract
Textil AG, located in Southern Germany, imports mass produced goods from different Asian countries. Hong Kong, like many other countries, is often a source country that finishes goods from third countries. In addition, Textil AG delivers raw materials, accessories (buttons, shoulder upholstery, etc.), and a local manufacturer makes, for example, blouses out of these materials in another country. The finished goods are sent to Germany and sold on the open market. In other cases, Textil AG buys textiles, either by contracting other manufacturers or from a wide array of local manufacturers. In the present case, Textil AG imports women's blouses from India from local manufacturers. There is a long standing business relationship with the Indian manufacturer T Shirt Ltd. As a consequence of this relationship, further checking of the partner's reliability, the quality of the merchandise, production and shipping has not to be conducted.
