Zusammenfassung
Der Kampf um Marktanteile in der Automobilindustrie fand lange vor allem in den einkommensstarken, hoch entwickelten Ländern der Triade (Westeuropa, Nordamerika und Japan) sowie in Südkorea und Australien statt. In einer zweiten Wachstumsphase investierten die Automobilunternehmen auch in weniger entwickelten Ländern wie Südafrika, Malaysia, Thailand und Mexiko in Produktionsbetriebe.
