Zusammenfassung
Der Erfolg vieler Dienstleistungsunternehmen wird in Zukunft noch stärker von der Fähigkeit abhängen, Kundenbeziehungen langfristig zu sichern. Für den Aufbau und die Aufrechterhaltung anhaltender Beziehungen sind die von den Mitarbeitern gelebte Orientierung gegenüber den Kunden während der Leistungserstellung (vgl. Arnett et al. 2002) [3] sowie die Bindung der Mitarbeiter an ihr Unternehmen wesentliche Voraussetzungen (vgl. Bruhn/Stauss 2006) [7]. Der Mitarbeiterstolz stellt für die Sicherstellung dieser Bedingungen eine treibende Kraft dar (vgl. Gouthier 2007; Gouthier/Walter 2006) [14], [17]. Im Dienstleistungsbereich ist der Mitarbeiterstolz eine der am stärksten wahrgenommenen positiven Emotionen. Durch die Erfüllung und insbesondere übererfüllung der Erwartungen an die eigene Arbeitsleistung entsteht ein Erfolgsgefühl in Form einer angenehm empfundenen Emotion (vgl. Verbeke et al. 2004) [31]. Dieser so genannte Leistungsstolz basiert auf einer wahrgenommenen eigenen Performance (vgl. Webster et al. 2003) [32]. Entscheidend für das Empfinden dieser Emotion ist, dass das Handlungsergebnis auf eigene Fähigkeiten oder Anstrengungen zurückgeführt wird (vgl. Weiner 1985) [33]. Einzelemotionen des Mitarbeiterstolzes im Sinne des Leistungsstolzes sind i.d.R. von vergleichsweise kurzer zeitlicher Dauer. Laut Frese (1990, S. 292)
