Zusammenfassung
Zur Herstellung von Vinylchlorid, dem Ausgangsmaterial für Polyvinylchlorid (PVC) [1], kann auch Ethylen auf Basis von biogenem Ethanol verwendet werden. Vinylchlorid ist eine der wichtigsten Basischemikalien mit einer Weltproduktionsmenge von über 30 Millionen t/a [2]. Bild 274 zeigt die Herstellung von Ethylen aus Ethanol, Bild 278 die Umwandlung zu Vinylchlorid und die Polymerisation zu PVC. Es werden drei wichtige Verfahren angewendet [3], [4]: Suspensionspolymerisation (S-PVC, 80 % Anteil an der Weltproduktion), Emulsionspolymerisation (E-PVC, 12 % Anteil) und Masse-Polymerisation (M-PVC, 8 % Anteil). Der Polymerisationsgrad liegt typischerweise zwischen 700 und 1500 [4].
