Zusammenfassung

Viele der komplexeren Krankheiten höherer Organismen sind auf Anomalien bei der Signalübertragung und Regulation zurückzuführen. Zu diesen Anomalien kann es aufgrund von erblichen Defekten kommen oder auch aufgrund von Verletzungen und Durchblutungsstörungen im Laufe des Wachstums und der Entwicklung. Komplexe Angelegenheiten wie Übergewicht, Diabetes und Verhaltensstörungen resultieren häufig aus einem Zusammenspiel von genetischer Prädisposition und Umwelteinflüssen. Zunächst sollen hier die Grundlagen der Kommunikation zwischen den Zellen höherer vielzelliger Organismen betrachtet werden.
