Dieser Beitrag zeigt, wie ERP-Systeme in der Lehre dazu beitragen können, das Wissen über Geschäftsprozesse, Wirtschaftsinformatik und praktische Erfahrungen zu vernetzen. Dazu wird ein ERP-System als Lernträger eingesetzt, das zugleich in verschiedene konzeptionelle Ebenen (Metadaten, Daten, Programmcode, Anwendungen, Prozesswissen) aufgeteilt wird. Diese Ebenen werden zu geeigneten Benutzergruppen zusammengeführt, die jeweils unterschiedliche Perspektiven auf ein ERP-System — wie bspw. die Anwender- oder Entwicklerperspektive — darstellen. Auf dieser Basis werden einzelne Themenbereiche der Wirtschaftsinformatik-Vorlesungen aufgegriffen und anhand eines ERP-Systems verdeutlicht. Dabei nehmen die Studierenden die verschiedenen Perspektiven ein und erlernen so die Zusammenhänge der konzeptionellen Ebenen. Dieses Lehrkonzept verfolgt dabei nicht das Ziel, eine Modul- oder Produktschulung für ein konkretes ERP-System zu sein, sondern vielmehr Konzepte wie Datenintegration, Datenstrukturintegration, Prozessintegration oder Informationsmodellierung in praxisnahen Situationen anzuwenden. Eine selbst entwickelte Fallstudie liefert dabei den Handlungsrahmen.
