Wir unterscheiden folgende Arten der Plättchenkonzentrate: „RANDOM“ (ein nicht speziell ausgewähltes Spenderkollektiv) „NON-RANDOM“ (nach bestimmten Kriterien ausgewählte Spender, zB. HLA-Kompatibilität).
