Zusammenfassung

Die Bestrahlung hat die Aufgabe, die in zellulären Blutkomponenten enthaltenen, vitalen Lymphozyten, die eine Transplantat gegen Wirt-Reaktion (GvHD) auslösen können, zu inaktivieren, um solchen Reaktionen vorzubeugen. Dies geschieht durch Bestrahlung mittels einer Caesium 137- oder Kobalt 60-Quelle, wobei eine Herddosis von mindestens 3000 rad (30 Gy) verabreicht werden soll.
