Der Morbus Dupuytren kann entweder langsam voranschreiten, von Phasen des Stillstandes unterbrochen sein oder auch innerhalb kurzer Zeit zu kontrakten Fehlstellungen der Fingergelenke führen (Millesi, 1959; 1965; Mikkelsen, 1977). Alles hänge von der individuellen Disposition ab (Strickland et al, 1990).
