Zusammenfassung

Obwohl Erwerbslosigkeit so alt ist wie die Industriegesellschaft, ist Langzeiterwerbslosigkeit eine Besonderheit der letzten 25 Jahre. Wie Nies (1979) aufzeigt, waren bis zur Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts in den westlichen Industrieländern auch in Zeiten mit höherer Erwerbslosenquote die Betroffenen meist nur wenige Monate erwerbslos.
