Zusammenfassung
Der folgende Beitrag beschreibt eine Phase des Passauer Projekts1 “GB-Parsing”, in der es darum geht, Aktionen für unser Parsingprogramm PAULA 2 zu spezifizieren, die strukturell mehrdeutige Fragesätze mit Subjekt-Objekt-Ambiguitäten zu verarbeiten imstande sind. Ziel des Projektes zur syntaktischen Analyse des Deutschen auf der Grundlage der Rektions- und Bindungstheorie ist die Modellierung und Simulation der beim menschlichen Sprachverstehen ablaufenden kognitiven Prozesse, d.h. das Parsingprogramm soll jene Effekte aufweisen, die auch bei der menschlichen Sprachverarbeitung zu beobachten sind. Steht man vor dieser Aufgabe, so findet man sich konfrontiert mit einer großen Anzahl psycholinguistischer Publikationen, die jedoch fast ausschließlich auf Untersuchungen des Englischen basieren. Die Auseinandersetzung mit der vorliegenden Literatur sowie der Verlauf und die Ergebnisse erster eigener psycholinguistischer Untersuchungen des Deutschen sind Gegenstand der folgenden Ausführungen. Diesen Ausführungen — wie der gesamten Arbeit im Passauer Projekt — übergeordnet ist die Frage nach dem Zusammenhang zwischen Grammatik und Verarbeitungsmechanismus.
