Besonderheiten der Frühgeburtsprävention bei Zwillingen und höhergradigen Mehrlingen inklusive selektiver Mehrlingsreduktion

Zusammenfassung

Das Frühgeburtsrisiko ist bei Mehrlingen gegenüber Einlingen erhöht. Die Vorhersage einer Frühgeburt bei einer Mehrlingsschwangerschaft ist kaum möglich. Bekannte Maßnahmen zur Prävention oder Hemmung der Wehentätigkeit wie z.B. Progesteron, Bettruhe, Cerclage und tokolytische Therapie reduzieren die Frühgeburtenrate bei Mehrlingsschwangerschaften nicht. Durch eine selektive Mehrlingsreduktion sollen bei höhergradigen Mehrlingsschwangerschaften Risiken für die Mutter und die verbleibenden Feten vermindert werden. Der selektive Fetozid ist ethisch allerdings äußerst problematisch.
