Zusammenfassung
Vielerorts ist heute ein Verfall von Vertrauen zu beklagen. Dabei stellt Vertrauen eine wichtige Investition dar und ist unverzichtbar, wenn es darum geht, die Komplexität unserer Umwelt auf ein beherrschbares Maß zu reduzieren. Obwohl jeder von Vertrauen spricht, ist Vertrauen weit weniger gut definiert, als man annehmen könnte. So werden Begriffe wie Zuversicht, Hoffnung oder Zutrauen oft als Synonyme gebraucht, obwohl sie in Wahrheit etwas anderes bezeichnen. Zur Untersuchung von Vertrauen werden in der Wissenschaft nicht nur Fragebögen eingesetzt, sondern auch innovative Verhaltensspiele wie etwa das „Trust Game“. Wirft man einen Blick in die Forschung, so stellt man fest, dass Vertrauen mit zahlreichen positiven Konsequenzen verbunden ist, sei es für Organisationen oder Individuen. Wie bei den meisten anderen Werten gilt jedoch auch beim Vertrauen, der goldene Mittelweg ist wie so oft der beste.
