Abstract
The concept of remote control for space applications has been receiving increasing emphasis over the past several years, both in the United States and in the Soviet Union. Russian efforts in this area have produced the first (and second) remotely controlled lunar rover, the Lunakhod system. This paper will discuss systems and technology development efforts included in the United States Aerospace Remote Control Program.
