Zusammenfassung
Im letzten Jahrzehnt wurde kein Zweig des Gebietes der hydraulischen Maschinen in der technischen Literatur so ausführlich behandelt wie die Kavitation. Der Grund dafür ist der, daß man höhere spezifische Drehzahlen, die erhöhte Kavitationsgefahr mitbrachten, sowohl bei Turbinen wie bei Pumpen wählte. Um die Zusammenhänge zu klären, wurden experimentelle und theoretische Studien über Kavitation in Turbinen, Kreiselpumpen und in Anordnungen ohne bewegte Teile wie venturiförmigen Wasserleitungen durchgeführt. Der Erfolg der Studien und der füher gesammelten Erfahrungen ist, daß die heutigen Pumpen bei höheren Drehzahlen arbeiten und trotzdem sicherer gegen Zerstörungen durch Kavitation sind als früher.
