Gemäß DSM-IV liegen die gemeinsamen Merkmale der dissoziativen Störungen v.a. in einer plötzlichen oder allmählichen Veränderung der normalerweise integrierend wirkenden Funktionen des Gedächtnisses oder des Bewußtseins.
