Die Grundlegung der kritisch-konstruktiven Didaktik ist die bildungstheoretische Didaktik. Sie ist ein bedeutender Ansatz der deutschen Didaktiktradition und wird bis heute rezipiert. Wolfgang Klafki, der bekannteste Vertreter, setzte den Bildungsbegriff in den Mittelpunkt didaktischen Handelns und stellte die Auseinandersetzung mit Bildungsinhalten in das Zentrum der didaktischen Analyse (Klafki, 1975a).
