Abstract
As described in Chapter 1, the Fourth Industrial Revolution has increased the complexity and dynamics in logistics due to shorter product life-cycles, rising numbers of product variants, and growing numbers of links and dependencies of production processes between companies. This particularly affects the transport processes within production and supply chain networks.
