Zusammenfassung
Integration hat im politisch-soziologischen Verständnis die Aufgabe, Personen oder Bevölkerungsgruppen, die sich zum Beispiel durch ethnische Zugehörigkeit, Religion oder Sprache unterscheiden, die gesellschaftliche und politische Eingliederung in eine Gesellschaft zu ermöglichen. Damit ist Integration ein Prozess, der die Beteiligung von mindestens zwei verschiedenen Gruppen voraussetzt. Die Gesellschaft muss die Bereitschaft signalisieren, Neues zuzulassen und aufzunehmen. Die Migranten auf der anderen Seite müssen den Willen zur Partizipation an der Aufnahmegesellschaft erkennen lassen. Gelungene Integration setzt Akzeptanz, Toleranz und Offenheit voraus.
