Zusammenfassung

„Ich mache keine Voraussagen und werde auch nie welche machen,“ antwortete der englische Fußballer Paul Gascoigne einst auf die Frage nach den Siegeschancen seiner Mannschaft. Wir mögen über seinen Lapsus schmunzeln, aber er lehrt uns, dass es ungeheuer schwierig ist, keine Voraussagen zu machen. Wir alle machen im Alltag ständig Voraussagen und sind dabei sogar meistens erfolgreich. Ohne erfolgreiche Voraussagen (z. B. im Straßenverkehr) könnten wir auch schwerlich überleben. Auch Voraussagen über den Alltag hinaus sind üblich und notwendig.
