Zusammenfassung
Seit Jahren herrscht in Wissenschaft, Politik und Praxis eine kontroverse Debatte über die Entwicklung der politischen Partizipation von Jugendlichen. Viele Studien diagnostizieren eine wachsende Politikverdrossenheit auf Seiten der Jugendlichen, basierend auf Symptomen wie geringes politisches Interesse, fehlendes Wissen und niedriges (konventionelles) politisches Engagement (z. B. Engagement in Parteien, Wahlbeteiligung) sowie geringes Vertrauen in die Politikakteure und Institutionen (vgl. Begemann u. a. 2011a; Begemann u. a. 2011b; Gille/Rijke/Gaiser 2011; Livingstone 2009; Ritzi/Schaal/Kaufmann 2012; Schneekloth 2010; Soßdorf 2014; Willems u. a. 2010; 2012).
