Abstract
Dieser Beitrag diskutiert zentrale Begriffe, theoretische Perspektiven und Erklärungsansätze sowie ausgewählte empirische Befunde am Schnittpunkt von Migrations- und Familiensoziologie. Argumentiert wird für eine stärkere Wahrnehmung des Merkmals Migration in der familiensoziologischen Forschung. Die vielfältige Bedeutung von Migration für Familie und umgekehrt von Familie für Migration wird für die drei Bereiche Wanderungserfahrung, Eingliederungs- und Minoritätserfahrung im Zielland und Herkunftslandbezug ausgeführt. Alle drei Ebenen müssen für das Verständnis von Migrantenfamilien berücksichtigt werden. Anhand vier familiensoziologischer Themenfelder werden die bisherige Forschung und zentrale Erkenntnisse zum Komplex Migrantenfamilien auszugsweise vorgestellt.
