Zusammenfassung

Der Beitrag stellt „Spielarten des Kapitalismus“ (engl.: varieties of capitalism) als in der Policy-Forschung einsetzbaren Theorieansatz vor. Der Theorieansatz wird in fünf Schritten vorgestellt. Dabei handelt es sich um die Unternehmenszentrierung, um die Koordination in institutionellen Sphären, um das Konzept der institutionellen Komplementarität, um die Unterscheidung nationaler Spielarten des Kapitalismus und um die Folgen für wirtschaftliche Effizienz und institutionellen Wandel. Zudem wird die Eignung des Theorieansatzes für die Policy-Forschung anhand von drei Beispielen vorgeführt: anhand der Debatten um Liberalisierungspolitik in Deutschland, um arbeitgeberzentrierte Erklärungen von Sozialpolitik und um die Globale Finanzkrise. Der Beitrag schließt mit einem Plädoyer für distinkte, schlanke Theoriekörper.
