Zusammenfassung
Die Zahl der anspruchsvollen, hoch qualifizierten Tätigkeiten und deren Bedeutung für die Leistungs- und Innovationsfähigkeit von Organisationen und modernen Gesellschaften haben deutlich zugenommen. Organisationen und Gesellschaften sind zunehmend auf das Wissen und Know-how angewiesen, über das spezielle hoch qualifizierte Berufsgruppen verfügen, deren Arbeitshandeln und berufliche Praxis einer eigenständigen, dritten professionellen Logik folgen, die sich sowohl von Hierarchie als auch Markt unterscheidet. Diese Berufsgruppen organisieren ihre Arbeit vorwiegend im Rahmen einer professionellen Praxis, die ihnen eine gewisse Unabhängigkeit und Selbstständigkeit gegenüber Auftraggebern und Kunden erlaubt. Die den Mitgliedern dieser professionellen Berufsgruppen gewährte relative Autonomie bei der Leistungserbringung gilt auch für die Ebene der gesellschaftlichen Organisation, die als Selbstverwaltung durch die Mitglieder der Profession selbst angelegt ist. Diese Form der Selbstgovernance durch die Profession trifft insbesondere für Professionsmitglieder zu, deren berufliche Praxis in Form einer freiberuflichen, selbstständigen Tätigkeit erfolgt.
