Zusammenfassung
Zuechnung auf Handlung? – Erzeugung von Normen? Die soziologische Kommunikationstheorie braucht neue Impulse! Während die empirische Kommunikationsforschung durch die Entwicklungen des Internets und anderer mobiler Kommunikationsformen an Bedeutung immer weiter zunimmt, kann man sagen, dass die soziologische Kommunikationstheorie sich auf der Suche nach neuen Impulsen befindet. Diese Suchbewegung wird vor allem dadurch ausgelöst, dass eine Übersetzung der wohl avanciertesten soziologischen Kommunikationstheorie in aussichtsreiche empirische Untersuchungen bisher nicht gelungen ist. Die systemtheoretische Zentralstellung des Kommunikationsbegriffs hat ihn für eine Reihe von Forschungsansätzen eher schwer handhabbar gemacht, weil sich das Verhältnis zu bestehenden Instrumenten der empirischen Sozialforschung nicht klären lässt.
