Zusammenfassung
Während einer Intensivbehandlung kompliziert jede Stoffwechselentgleisung den Krankheitszustand. Der gestörte Energiehaushalt der Körperzellen — mit entsprechenden Stoffwechsel-, Milieu- und Membranveränderungen — bedingt als cerebrale Reaktion akut oder langsam entstehende Veränderungen der elektrischen Aktivität. Erstes Zeichen der Beeinflussung des Gehirns durch Störungen der Energieversorgung ist die Verlangsamung der Grundaktivität. Sie ist — unabhängig von der zugrundeliegenden Ursache — als prognostisch ungünstiger Parameter in der Gesamtbeurteilung der akuten Krankheitssituation zu bewerten.
