Abstract
Dynamical processes of biexciton lasing in CuCl quantum dots were studied. Time-resolved luminescence study shows that the recurring process between excitons and biexcitons was clearly observed in the nanocrystals but was not observed in a CuCl bulk crystal, which shows that biexcitons are much more efficiently formed in nanocrystals than in bulk. The efficient formation comes from the spatial confinement of excitons in nanocrystals and gives the much higher optical gain than the bulk.
