Abstract
The aim of testing mineral dusts on alveolar macrophages in vitro is to identify potentially health damaging bioeffects of the particles on cells. Such studies could be applied to
-
the identification of endangerments to health through emission of new technologic materials
-
bio-monitoring of production procedures involving materials with labile physico-chemical constitution
-
knowledge on the molecular mechanisms of dust-cell interaction and the effectual routes leading to disease
