Abstract
This chapter is concerned with the results collected so far on the pharmacokinetics and metabolism of 2-tert-butyl-4-cyclohexyl nicotinate (L44) (Fig. 1), a substance exhibiting hypolipidemic properties (Quack et al. 1986). For this study we utilized the compound labeled with [14C] in the phenolic ring. In order to check the chemical and radiochemical purity of the labeled compound different chromatographic techniques, combined with radioactivity monitoring detectors, were employed.
